What is Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy?

SFH is a modern psychotherapeutic approach which concentrates on helping you achieve your goals using structured, practical and well-researched techniques to make positive changes in a relatively short period of time.

Solution-focused hypnotherapy (SFH) is a talking therapy which mixes psychotherapy and hypnosis to help clients make progress towards their goals. It is forward-looking and looks at what you want to achieve (solutions).

Alexandra utilises different techniques from Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), NLP and CBT to help clients find solutions that are right for them. The key theories behind her techniques and approaches are based on neuroscience.

Solution-focused Sleep Therapy

Solution Focused Sleep Therapy is a natural therapy and structured course of treatment which includes an individual assessment and combines elements from CBTi and Hypnotherapy to help you get a better night’s sleep.

For people suffering from sleep issues such as:

  • Waking up at night
  • Difficulty getting to sleep
  • Difficulty waking up
  • Waking up too early

Gut Directed Hypnotherapy

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) can be a debilitating and long-term problem.  It is estimated that as many as 1 in 5 are affected by IBS in the UK. Hypnotherapy is recognised by NICE (The National Institute for Clinical Excellence) as a useful therapy for helping to manage this condition. I use a mixture of Gut Directed Hypnotherapy and Solution Focused Hypnotherapy to help with IBS.

What does Gut Directed Hypnotherapy involve?

Our first meeting is an initial consultation where we can discuss in depth how you are suffering and what we can do about it. We look at the connection between the gut and the brain. I will also give you a recording to listen to and a relaxation technique to practise.

Subsequent sessions are a mixture of talking therapy and hypnosis, where we discuss your progress and use different techniques including visualisation and hypnosis to help you.

Number of Sessions

Most people need between 8-12 sessions. For specific fears and phobias, fewer sessions may be needed.  Get in touch to find out more with a no obligation chat.

She is experienced in working with insomnia, depression, fears and phobias, IBS, PTSD, work-related stress, performance at work, exam stress and building confidence as well as other issues related to well-being and happiness.

Alexandra is an NCH-registered Clinical Hypnotherapist, a member of the Complimentary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) and Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. She holds the Hypnotherapy Practitioners Diploma (HPD) and Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (DSFH).
